Percutaneous valve replacement (TAVI and TMVR)

Percutaneous valve replacement is used in rare cases where the patient suffering from aortic or mitral valve disease is at very high risk for all cardiac surgeries, even endoscopic ones.

Percutaneous procedures are usually performed either through the femoral vein or through a small incision 3 cm in size in the left hemithorax.
